Description
The general configuration suggests that this is the lower end of the femur, which is expanded and
replaced by a grey-coloured tumour, in the central parts of which there seems to be some necrosis.
At the periphery, at the base, a thin strip of cartilage can be seen.
History
None. This was an old Wellington Hospital specimen, mounted with the label of 'benign
giant cell tumour of bone'.
